Ensuring Compliance in a Complex Legal Landscape
December 1, 2024
In today’s fast-evolving business environment, staying compliant with the ever-changing labor laws and regulations is crucial. Organizations must navigate a maze of local, state, and federal requirements. Non-compliance can lead to severe legal penalties, erode employee trust, and damage a company’s reputation — all of which can have long-term financial and operational consequences.
HR’s role in compliance goes far beyond understanding legal frameworks. It requires proactive, strategic action to safeguard the organization from potential risks. This includes conducting regular compliance audits, offering continuous training for employees and leadership, and creating a workplace culture that values transparency, ethics, and accountability.
A dedicated and knowledgeable HR team is vital to ensuring that compliance is never overlooked and we can help mitigate those legal and financial risks, while fostering a positive, ethical workplace culture that protects your organization and employees. Ensuring compliance isn’t just about avoiding penalties — it’s about demonstrating a commitment to integrity, fairness, and respect within the workplace.

Best Practices For Onboarding New Hires
July 15, 2024
Starting a new job can be exciting but may also feel daunting to any new hire. It is crucial for a new hire’s first experience to be a positive one. After all, hiring takes a lot of time and energy and once you find a great fit for your company, you’ll want to make sure you give them a meaningful first experience. One of the best ways to ensure this is by having an effective onboarding process.
1- Start before your employee’s first day. Once they accept the offer, communicate with them. Send them a welcome email, a list of the paperwork they’ll need on the first day, or a schedule of their first week.
2- Get the whole team involved. Invite team members from other departments to meet with your new hire. This will help your new employee meet other departments and can allow them to start building those workplace connections.
3- Continue checking in after the first week. Check in with them regularly throughout their first year to really make a lasting impact. Their feedback can also help you improve your onboarding process for future hires.

Don’t Get Caught Without HR!
May 1, 2024
Why it is important to have a dedicated HR Resource(s):
- Understand HR policies and processes. Avoid opening your organization to potential risk by not having a dedicated resource that can help you navigate these procedures.
- Connect with your employees and managers. When your employees have HR related questions and concerns such as questions about benefits or performance management, do they have a resource they can go to?
- Respond to time sensitive requests such as onboarding, I-9 forms, salary increases. If someone is handling HR as a side job, things may fall through the cracks.
- Compliance – federal, state, and county laws are constantly changing and you want someone that is up-to-date on these changes.

June 29, 2022
If your company offers a self-funded or level-funded plan, you must be in compliance with the Transparency in Coverage rules as of July 1st. All group health plans are required to provide public access to machine readable files that include negotiated in-network rates and out-of-network allowed amounts for medical services. Your insurance carrier or TPA should be providing the files or the link to the files to employers as employers are required to post these links to their public facing website. It’s important to make sure your company is in compliance as there are penalties for non-compliance.
